Upwing Energy to Present at ICoTA Europe Extended Lunch and Learn

CERRITOS, Calif. – Sept. 21, 2022 – Upwing Energy, an end-2-end comprehensive natural gas service company, will be presenting at the Intervention and Coiled Tubing Association (ICoTA) Europe Extended Lunch and Learn to be held in Aberdeen, U.K. on Sept. 27.  The event will focus on artificial lift technologies that boost production through intervention.

Director of Technical Field Operations David Biddick will discuss a new single cable alternative deployment method for Upwing’s Subsurface Compressor System (SCS).

“We will be able to deploy our SCS in a much shorter time than tubing deployments through this alternative method without the use of a rig and without having to kill the well,” said Biddick.  “By eliminating rig rental fees and production downtime, significant cost benefits will be realized by our clients, particularly for offshore applications.”

The distinctive attributes of Upwing’s SCS allow for the subsurface compressor to be deployed in a lubricator through a mono cable. The single cable design includes a strength member along with the SCS power, capillary and data acquisition lines.  The strength member allows for safe installation and retrieval from any design depth required to maximize production in a particular asset.

The SCS is deployed in an inverted configuration allowing for the utilization of existing safety barrier technologies without adding complex completions.

Upwing’s Subsurface Compression System™ (SCS) decreases bottomhole flowing pressure, creating higher reservoir drawdown and allowing for increased production and recoverability of natural gas in existing wells. The SCS also increases gas velocity above critical speeds, which improves well flow behavior and distribution by abating liquid loading.

ICoTA was established in Scotland in 1994 as a means of supporting, communicating and promoting rapid technological advances within the well intervention industry.  As a technology association, ICoTA includes members from oil and gas operating, well servicing, manufacturing and technology companies.
