Upwing is addressing how to meet the demand of natural gas production in an environmentally responsible way, prioritizing sustainability in its technology and company practices.
Upwing's Subsurface Compressor System™ (SCS), a downhole gas lift compressor, provides greater efficiencies and lower emissions in natural gas production by reducing the need to drill new unconventional wells and eliminating the use of surface wellhead gas compressors on existing wells.

Leading By Example
Upwing Energy achieves carbon neutrality in accordance with ISO 14068-1, the international standard for climate change management and carbon neutrality. Prior to transitioning to ISO 14068-1, Upwing was the first among oil and gas equipment and service companies to achieve carbon neutrality based on the PAS 2060 standard.
We are committed to maintaining our certification and will continue to push the envelope to find and implement innovative solutions that will reduce the environmental impact while simultaneously increasing the productivity of our industry.

What’s Included
The calculation of overall greenhouse gas emissions includes scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions.
- Scope 1 – Direct emissions from sources owned by Upwing Energy
- Scope 2 – Indirect emissions from purchased electricity
- Scope 3 – All other emissions related to Upwing’s activities
How We Certify Emissions and Offsets
Upwing Energy works with DEKRA Certification, Inc., an accredited third-party verification body, to independently certify Upwing as a carbon neutral organization. The certification covers Upwing Energy's global operations and facilities and confirms that the company's greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions have been comprehensively quantified, reduced and offset. In addition to calculating emissions, DEKRA Certification, Inc. makes certain we comply with the requirements of the ISO 14068-1 standard. This specification for carbon neutrality is recognized internationally and sets out the requirements for reduction and offsetting. When selecting offsets, Upwing Energy makes a conscious decision to find a clean energy project that meet the ISO 14068-1 environmental standard. Most recently, we have chosen to offset emissions through hydro power projects.

Our management team goes through each scope of emissions to determine the steps we can take towards carbon neutrality both now and in the future. Then, adjustments are made to daily operations to lower our total quantity of greenhouse gas emissions.

Upwing Energy also encourages our employees to take individual actions, such as carpooling, staying at green hotels, choosing low-carbon travel options, recycling and conserving energy to support our position of being a carbon neutral gas company.
