Electrical Assembly Technician III (SCC)

Upwing Energy is seeking a skilled Electrical Assembly Technician to join our production team in supporting the assembly, integration and testing of electrical systems and sub-systems for industrial applications. The Technician will be responsible for assembling, wiring and testing electrical control systems and components in accordance with engineering drawings, schematics and specifications. This role plays a key part in ensuring that all products meet quality, safety and performance standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain and repair electrical systems, equipment and fixtures in industrial and construction environments in accordance with local and national codes.
  • Experience with High- and Low-voltage wiring, as well as PLC systems, is desirable.
  • Read, interpret and work from blueprints, electrical schematics, work instructions and technical diagrams to ensure accurate installations.
  • Route, bend, cut and install conduit, wiring and associated hardware to meet project specifications per engineering and customers’ requirements.
  • Perform troubleshooting and diagnostic testing on electrical circuits, motors, panels and control systems to identify and correct issues.
  • Assemble, install and maintain switchgear, motor control centers, transformers, lighting systems, distribution panels, etc.
  • Use electrical test equipment (multimeters, clamp meters, megohmmeters, etc.) to verify proper operation, continuity, insulation resistance and safety compliance.
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with NEC, NFPA 70E, OSHA and company safety standards.
  • Perform Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and follow arc-flash safety protocols to protect personnel and equipment.
  • Collaborate with supervisors, engineers and other trades to coordinate work, resolve issues and meet project schedules.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, inspections and materials used.
     

Skills, Experience, Education, and Abilities:

  • Minimum of 5 years of technical experience may include military training, technical degrees, etc.
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on electrical experience in industrial and construction environments, including installation, troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of electrical systems and equipment
  • HS Diploma or equivalent
  • Able to lift 40 lbs.
  • Ability to communicate in English
  • Familiar with MS Windows and spreadsheets
  • Familiar with safety protocols in a production environment desirable, including with use of lifts, gantries and other material handling systems, LOTO, electrical safety, etc.
  • Familiarity with cleanrooms or FOD-free environments is desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience with torque wrenches, bearing presses and extractors, height and depth gages, multimeters, torches and other hand and power tools.
  • Able to read technical drawings, electrical schematics and piping & instrumentation diagrams
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication skills to coordinate with engineers, supervisors and other trades
  • Time management and ability to prioritize tasks under tight deadlines
  • Problem-solving mindset to quickly address on-site issues
  • Adaptability to work in varying industrial and construction environments (indoors/outdoors, confined spaces, elevated platforms)

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

  • This position will be in a shop environment most of the time.  Personal protective equipment should be worn in designated shop floor areas.
